In 1982, Mr. Jackson was awarded his Juris Doctorate from the University of Alabama School of Law where he was an editor of the American Journal of Tax Policy. He became employed in public accounting immediately thereafter in Houston, Texas. At that time, he was both a C.P.A. and admitted to the Texas Bar Association. A significant portion of his client work was in helping families manage their assets through the use of corporations, partnerships and trusts. After a total of five years of public accounting experience, he became employed in Charlotte, North Carolina with a subsidiary of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company where he was Tax Manager and, later, Finance Director in charge of Accounting, Credit and Tax Functions. While at Goodyear, he provided trust and estate planning to executive management and others.
Mr. Jackson was admitted to the North Carolina Bar Association in 1993. In 1999, he became CFO and General Counsel of Wizards, Inc., a regional automotive service company. At Wizards, Inc., Mr. Jackson assisted executive management with personal as well as corporate legal and tax assistance.
In 2001, Mr. Jackson established the Jackson Law Firm, PLLC, a private practice emphasizing business law and estate planning.
